The Australian Hymn Book

The Australian Hymn Book was published in 1977, and was the culmination of almost ten years' work by an ecumenical committee, chaired by A. Harold Wood, intent on producing a new, contemporary and inclusive hymn book that could be used in worship by the varied Christian congregations across Australia.

HOW HAPPY ARE THY SERVANTS, LORD

[1]
*How happy are thy servants, Lord,
who thus remember thee!
What tongue can tell our sweet accord,
our perfect harmony?

[2]
Who thy mysterious supper share,
here at thy table fed,
many, and yet but one we are,
one undivided bread.

[3]
One with the living bread divine
which now by faith we eat,
our hearts and minds and spirits join,
and all in Jesus meet.
