O THOU MY SOUL, BLESS GOD THE LORD

O thou my soul, bless God the Lord,
and all that is in me
be quick to bless his holy name
and praise him thankfully.

Forget not all his benefits
and bless him for them still,
who doth forgive thee all thy sins
and heal thy every ill:

[3]
who doth redeem thy life, that thou
to death mayst not go down:
who thee with loving kindness doth
and tender mercies crown.

[4]
The Lord our God is merciful,
and plenteous his grace;
to anger slow, he will not chide
or keep his wrath always:

[5]
for he remembers we are dust
and well our frame he knows:
the days of man are as the grass,
as flower in field he grows;

[6]
but unto them that fear the Lord
his mercy never ends,
and to their children's children still
his righteousness extends.
